This module covers the basics about influenza and influenza vaccines. It will help learners understand CDC’s influenza vaccine recommendations and answer frequently asked questions.  Most of the content was adapted from:

Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this module, learners will be able to:

1. Distinguish the difference between the types of influenza virus and their properties.
2. Demonstrate knowledge of the clinical features and complications of influenza.
3. Identify the different types of influenza vaccines available in the United States.
4. Use current ACIP recommendations for influenza vaccination.
